Prof. R.C. Mishra Memorial Gold Medal
Prof. R. C. Misra
The Palaeontological Society of India established an Award in the memory of Late Prof. R. C. Misra, former Head of the Department of Geology, University of Lucknow and founding member of the Palaeontological Society of India. Prof. Misra is known for his Institution building capacity. He was instrumental in establishing the aluminium and cement industry in Sonbhadra District, Uttar Pradesh. The Gold Medal is awarded to a person of eminence in the field of Geology for his/her lifetime achievement. The recipient of the Gold Medal is expected to deliver a lecture on any subject of his choice in the discipline of Geology.
